Jeffersonville is a small village located in the town of Cambridge, Vermont, United States. In 2020, about 750 people lived there.

Village History
This village was first known as "Cambridge Center". In 1827, its name was changed to "Jeffersonville". This was done to honor Thomas Jefferson, who was a very important person in American history. The village officially became an incorporated village in 1897.
Exploring Jeffersonville's Geography
Jeffersonville is located in the middle of the town of Cambridge. It sits on the south side of the Lamoille River. The Brewster River also joins the Lamoille River right here.
The village covers about 0.80 square miles (2.1 square kilometers). A small part of this area, about 3.25%, is water. Jeffersonville is about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Burlington. You can get there by taking Vermont Route 15.
Mountains and Elevation
Jeffersonville is about 1,060 feet (323 meters) above sea level. It is surrounded by tall mountains. One of these is Mount Mansfield, which is about 7 miles (11 km) to the south. Mount Mansfield is the highest peak in Vermont, standing at 4,393 feet (1,339 meters) tall.

Sometimes, special snowstorms called "snow squalls" can happen. These can bring a lot of snow very quickly, sometimes up to 18 inches (46 cm) in just 12 hours! The average snowfall for the year is quite high, around 331.4 inches (842 cm).
Extreme Weather Records
The coldest temperature ever recorded in Jeffersonville was -38°F (-39°C) on January 28, 1994. The hottest temperature was 89°F (32°C), which happened on June 28, 2003, and July 26, 1989. The most snow from one storm was a huge 73.1 inches (186 cm), which fell between January 2 and 4, 2010.
