Real Sociedad Career
Jesús María Satrústegui was born in Pamplona, Navarre. He spent his whole professional football career in the Basque Country. He played only for one team, Real Sociedad.

Injury and Retirement
In November 1982, Satrústegui had a very serious knee injury. This happened during a match against Real Zaragoza. He injured his meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament.
After this injury, he never fully recovered. He decided to stop playing football at the end of the 1985–86 season. He was 32 years old when he retired.
