Jillian Noel Hennessy (born November 25, 1968) is a talented Canadian actress and singer. She is well-known for her roles in popular American TV shows. She played prosecutor Claire Kincaid for three seasons on Law & Order. Later, she starred as the main character, Jordan Cavanaugh, for six seasons on Crossing Jordan. Jill has also acted in movies like RoboCop 3 and Most Wanted. She even wrote and helped direct an independent film called The Acting Class.

Jill Hennessy's Early Life
Jill Hennessy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her father's job meant her family moved around a lot when she was growing up. When Jill was young, her mother left the family. Her grandmother, Eleanor, helped raise her in Kitchener, Ontario.
Jill has a younger brother named John Paul, also known as "J.P." She also has an identical twin sister named Jacqueline. Jacqueline is a writer for magazines and a TV show host in Canada. Jill's family background includes Irish, French, Swedish, and Italian roots from her father's side. On her mother's side, she has mostly Ukrainian Roma and Austrian ancestry.
Jill went to Stanley Park Senior Public School and graduated from Grand River Collegiate Institute in Kitchener. Before she became famous, she used to perform music in the Toronto subway to earn money. This is called busking.
Jill Hennessy's Acting and Music Career
Jill Hennessy has had a long and exciting career in acting and music. She almost got a big role in the TV show The X-Files, which eventually went to Gillian Anderson.
In 1990, Jill acted on Broadway in a musical called Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. In 1993, she appeared in the movie RoboCop 3 as Dr. Marie Lazarus.
Her big break on TV came in 1993. She was cast as Assistant district attorney Claire Kincaid in the NBC crime drama Law & Order. She played this important role for three seasons, leaving the show in 1996.
In 1999, she appeared in the movie Chutney Popcorn. In 2000, Jill showed her many talents by writing, producing, and helping to direct an independent film called The Acting Class. This movie was a mockumentary, which means it was a fake documentary. It showed the funny and challenging parts of an acting class. Her twin sister, Jacqueline, also appeared in the film, along with some of Jill's former Law & Order co-stars. That same year, she also acted in the film Nuremberg as Elsie Douglas.
In 2001, Jill played Jackie Kennedy in the film Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot. She also had a small role in the action movie Exit Wounds. A film critic named Owen Gleiberman praised her, saying she could become a big movie star.
From 2001 to 2007, Jill starred in the TV show Crossing Jordan. She played the main character, Jordan Cavanaugh, a medical examiner. In 2007, she also played the wife of Tim Allen's character in the movie Wild Hogs. On June 9, 2007, Jill received a special honor: a star on Canada's Walk of Fame.

Jill Hennessy's Personal Life
Jill Hennessy is very good with languages! She can speak English, Italian, French, Spanish, and German fluently. She also plays the guitar and sings. She enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband, Paolo Mastropietro. They got married in 2000. They had a second wedding ceremony in January 2001, which was led by Mayor Rudy Giuliani in New York City Hall. Their first son was born in 2003, and their second son was born in 2007.
