Jillian Cheryl Richardson-Briscoe (born March 10, 1965, in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago) is a Canadian athlete. She was a fantastic runner, especially in the 400 metres race. She competed in the Olympic Games three times! In 1988, she ran the 400 metres in an amazing 49.91 seconds, which was a Canadian record at the time, shared with Marita Payne. This record still stands today (as of 2022)! Because of her incredible career, she was added to the Athletics Canada Hall of Fame in 2017.

Jillian won many medals throughout her career. She earned a gold medal at the 1982 Commonwealth Games as part of the 4 x 400 metre relay team. She did it again at the 1986 Commonwealth Games, where she also won a silver medal in the individual 400 metres race.

She also won a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metre relay at the 1983 Pan American Games. Later, at the 1987 Pan American Games, she won two more silver medals: one for the 400 metres and another for the 4 x 400 metre relay. In 1989, she took home a gold medal in the 400 metres and a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metre relay at the 1989 Francophone Games.

1984 Los Angeles Olympics

At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, Jillian and her teammates Charmaine Crooks, Molly Killingbeck, and Marita Payne won a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. This was a huge achievement for the Canadian team!

1988 Seoul Olympics

At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Jillian ran the 400 metres in 49.91 seconds during the semi-finals. This was an incredibly fast time, but it was the first time someone had run under 50 seconds and still didn't make it to the final race. In the 4 x 400 metres relay, the Canadian team couldn't finish the final because one of her teammates, Molly Killingbeck, got injured.

1992 Barcelona Olympics

Jillian's final Olympic appearance was at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. She finished fifth in the 400 metres final, running 49.93 seconds. She also helped the 4 x 400 metres relay team finish fourth, just missing out on a medal.
