Joseph Francis Mazzello III (born September 21, 1983), often called Joe Mazzello, is an American actor. He is famous for playing Tim Murphy in Jurassic Park. He also played Roarke Hartman in The River Wild. Later, he was Eugene Sledge in the TV show The Pacific. Joe also played Dustin Moskovitz in The Social Network. Many people know him as Queen's bass player John Deacon in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.

Early Life and Education
Joseph Mazzello was born in Rhinebeck, New York. He grew up in Hyde Park, New York. His parents, Virginia and Joseph Jr., owned a dance studio. Joe went to Our Lady of Lourdes, a Catholic school.
After high school, he went to the University of Southern California. He joined the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2001. Director Steven Spielberg even wrote a letter to recommend him! Joe used money from a small role in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) to pay for his college. He joked that this was his graduation gift from Spielberg.
Acting Career Highlights
Starting Out: 1990–1998
Joe Mazzello's first movie was Presumed Innocent in 1990. He had a small part in it. He then appeared in movies like Radio Flyer and Jersey Girl. In 1992, he was also in the TV movie Desperate Choices: To Save My Child.
His big break came in 1993. He played Tim Murphy in Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park. That same year, he also starred in Shadowlands. In 1994, he played Roarke Hartman in The River Wild.
Joe continued acting in the mid-1990s. He had lead roles in Star Kid (1997) and Simon Birch (1998). He also did voice acting for the English version of The Adventures of Buratino.
TV Shows and Directing: 2001–2009
In the 2000s, Joe's first movie role was in Wooly Boys (2001). In 2002, he started acting on TV. He appeared in Providence. He also had roles in popular shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Without a Trace.
He was in movies such as Raising Helen (2004) and The Hollow (2004). Joe also tried directing! He made his first short film, Matters of Life and Death, in 2007.
Recent Success: 2010–Present
In 2010, Joe Mazzello played Dustin Moskovitz in The Social Network. Dustin was one of the people who started Facebook. Critics really liked Joe's acting in this movie. He and the other actors were nominated for many awards. Around this time, he also played Eugene Sledge in the mini-series The Pacific.
In 2013, Joe was in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. He played a character named Mouse. A big role came in 2018 when he played John Deacon in Bohemian Rhapsody. This movie was about the band Queen. In this film, he worked again with Rami Malek, who he had acted with in The Pacific. These movies were very successful. The Social Network made over $224 million, G.I. Joe: Retaliation made over $375 million, and Bohemian Rhapsody earned over $903 million worldwide!
