Juaquin Iglesias (pronounced Hwah-KEEN; born August 22, 1987) is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Chicago Bears picked him in the 2009 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Sports
Juaquin Iglesias was born to Bobby and Bernita Iglesias. His father owns a barber shop in Temple, Texas. Juaquin started playing football early with the Boys and Girls Club in Killeen, Texas.
At Killeen High School, Juaquin was a star athlete. In his senior year, he caught 42 passes for 886 yards. He also scored 10 touchdowns. His coach, Sam Jones, saw him named first-team all-district. Juaquin also ran track and field and played basketball. He averaged 17 points per game in basketball.
College Football Career
Juaquin Iglesias played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners.
First Seasons at Oklahoma
In his first year, 2005, he caught 19 passes for 290 yards. He scored his first college touchdown against the Baylor Bears. It was a 21-yard catch that won the game in double overtime.
In 2006, he had 41 catches for 514 yards. He played in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl against Boise State. He had a career-high 129 receiving yards in that game. He also caught a pass for a two-point conversion. This play helped Oklahoma tie the game with little time left.
Later Success at Oklahoma
Juaquin set a new career high on September 21, 2007. He caught 8 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns. This happened in a big win against the University of Tulsa.

Chicago Bears Experience
The Chicago Bears chose Juaquin in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft. He was the 99th player picked overall. He signed a four-year contract with the Bears in June 2009. He was expected to compete for a key wide receiver spot. However, he only played in one game during his first year.
Time with Minnesota Vikings
Later, the Minnesota Vikings signed Juaquin. They added him to their practice squad. This was before a game against the Detroit Lions in Week 17.
Houston Texans Opportunity
The Houston Texans also signed Juaquin Iglesias. He joined their practice squad during the 2012 preseason. But he was released by the Texans on August 31, 2012.
Playing in Canada
On February 21, 2013, Juaquin signed with the Toronto Argonauts. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). During the 2013 CFL season, he caught 3 passes for 65 yards. The Argonauts released him on September 25, 2013.
Helsinki Wolverines
Juaquin also played for the Helsinki Wolverines. This team is in Finland. He signed with them on February 6, 2013. He played alongside Columbus Givens III, who was his teammate in high school.
