Julio Iglesias Jr. (born Julio José Iglesias Preysler on 25 February 1973) is a Spanish singer and model. He is known for his music and for being part of a famous musical family.

Early Life and Family

Julio Iglesias Jr. was born in Madrid, Spain. His father is the famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. His mother is Filipina socialite Isabel Preysler.

He has an older sister, Chabeli Iglesias. His younger brother is the well-known singer Enrique Iglesias. After his parents separated, Julio Jr. and his siblings moved to Miami to live with their father. He later went to college at Menlo College in California.

Before focusing on music, Julio Jr. had some early experiences in television. He appeared on the TV show Out of the Blue. He also hosted a travel show for the Travel Channel. This show took him to different places in Latin America.

Becoming a Model and Singer

Julio Iglesias Jr. first started his career as a model. His manager helped him get a modeling deal with the Ford Models Agency in New York. Famous photographer Bruce Weber discovered him there. Julio Jr. then modeled for big fashion brands like Versace. He also appeared in an advertisement for Gap.

Even though he was offered roles in TV shows, Julio Jr. decided to focus on his passion for music. He signed a music contract with Epic Records. In 1999, he released his first album, Under My Eyes. This album included songs like "One More Chance". He even performed "One More Chance" at the Miss Universe 1999 Pageant. He also opened concerts for the famous singer Cher.

His second album, Tercera Dimensión, came out in 2003. This album featured Spanish pop rock songs.

Television and Other Projects

Julio Iglesias Jr. has appeared in several TV shows. He was on the Spanish version of Dancing with the Stars, called "¡Mira quien baila!". He also took part in a show called Club de Flo in Spain.

In 2008, he won the first season of the CMT reality show Gone Country. On this show, artists from different music styles competed for a country music contract. His song "The Way I Want You" was released to country radio. He also appeared on the ABC TV show the superstars.

In 2014, Julio Jr. joined a band called Latin Lovers. He performed with Nuno Resende and Damien Sargue. In 2015, he performed a concert with his father, Julio Iglesias, in Romania. This was a special moment for both of them.

Personal Life

In October 1999, Julio José Iglesias legally changed his name to Julio Iglesias Jr.

In May 2011, he became engaged to Belgian model Charisse Verhaert. They had been dating for seven years. Their wedding took place on 3 November 2012 in Aldea del Fresno, Spain. They later separated in 2020.
