Karisma Kapoor (born on June 25, 1974) is a famous Indian actress. She mostly acts in Hindi films. Karisma was one of the most popular and highest-paid Indian actresses in the 1990s and early 2000s. She has won many awards, including a National Film Award and four Filmfare Awards.
Karisma is part of the well-known Kapoor family of actors. She started acting as a teenager in 1991 with the movie Prem Qaidi. After that, she starred in many successful films. These included dramas like Jigar (1992) and Anari (1993). She also appeared in comedies such as Raja Babu (1994) and Coolie No. 1 (1995).
A big change in Karisma's career came with the hit romance movie Raja Hindustani (1996). She won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role. She then won a National Film Award for her role as a dancer in Dil To Pagal Hai (1997). Karisma continued to have success in many popular romantic comedies and family dramas. Early Life and Family Background

Karisma Kapoor was born in Mumbai on June 25, 1974. Her parents are actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Her younger sister, Kareena, is also a famous actress. Karisma comes from a long line of actors. Her grandfather was the actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Her great-grandfather was actor Prithviraj Kapoor. Many of her relatives are also involved in the film industry.
Karisma was always interested in acting, inspired by actresses like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. She often went with her parents to film sets and award shows. Her father initially didn't want women in the family to work in films. This led to some disagreements between her parents, and they lived separately for a while starting in 1988. Karisma and her sister Kareena were raised by their mother, who worked hard to support them. Her parents later got back together in 2007.
Karisma studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School. She also attended Sophia College for a few months. She later shared that she left college to become an actress and help her family.

Starting Out in Films (1991–1995)
Karisma Kapoor started her acting career in 1991 at age 16. Her first movie was the romantic drama Prem Qaidi. This film did fairly well at the box office. In 1992, some of her early films did not do well. However, she then starred in the action drama Jigar (1992) and the romantic drama Anari (1993). Both of these movies were big hits. Becoming a Top Actress (1996–2000)
In 1996, Karisma Kapoor appeared in 10 films. Some of them were not successful. However, her romantic comedy Saajan Chale Sasural was a commercial hit. She also starred in the action drama Jeet, which was a "super-hit" and one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Critics praised her acting in Jeet.
That same year, Karisma starred in Raja Hindustani with Aamir Khan. She played a wealthy heiress who falls in love with a simple guide. Off-Screen Work and Interests
Karisma Kapoor supports Salman Khan's charity, Being Human Foundation. She has walked the ramp for their charity fashion shows. In 2005, she performed at the HELP! Telethon Concert to raise money for victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. In 2010, she participated in another charity fashion event.
