Abhishek Bachchan (born 5 February 1976) is an Indian actor and film producer. He is well-known for his work in Hindi films, often called Bollywood movies. He comes from the famous Bachchan family, and his parents are the well-known actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.
From 2012 to 2016, Abhishek Bachchan was listed among the top 100 celebrities in India by Forbes India. This list was based on how much money they earned and how popular they were.
Abhishek Bachchan started his acting journey with the drama film Refugee in 2000. After a few challenging years, his career took a positive turn in 2004 with the action film Dhoom. He earned praise for his acting in dramas like Yuva (2004), Sarkar (2005), and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006). For these roles, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor three times in a row.
His biggest hits where he played the main male character were the comedy Bunty Aur Babli (2005) and the drama Guru (2007). Both of these films earned him nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Early Life and Family Background
Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5 February 1976 in Bombay (now called Mumbai). His parents are famous actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. He has one sister named Shweta Bachchan.
His grandfather, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a well-known poet and a professor at Allahabad University. His grandmother, Teji Bachchan, was a social activist. The family's original last name was Srivastava, but his grandfather used "Bachchan" as a pen name for his writing. When Amitabh Bachchan became an actor, he also used "Bachchan" as his surname.
Abhishek's family heritage is a mix of different cultures. On his father's side, he has Awadhi and Punjabi roots. On his mother's side, he is Bengali. His maternal grandfather, Taroon Kumar Bhaduri, was a famous author and poet. He wrote a book called Obhishopto Chambol (Cursed Chambal), which was about his experiences as a journalist. This book later inspired many Hindi films about outlaws.
Abhishek went to several schools, including Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. He also attended Modern School in New Delhi and Aiglon College in Switzerland. He later went to Boston University but left before finishing his degree to help his family during a difficult financial time. After that, he moved into the Bollywood film industry. Starting Out: 2000–2003
In 2000, Abhishek Bachchan made his first film appearance in the war drama Refugee. He starred alongside Kareena Kapoor, who was also making her debut. The film did okay at the box office, and both actors received good reviews. A film critic named Taran Adarsh said that Abhishek "has all it takes to emerge a competent actor."

Becoming Popular: 2004–2009
Abhishek Bachchan's career started to change in 2004. His first film that year, Run, was not a success. However, he then starred in Mani Ratnam's political drama Yuva (2004). Even though Yuva did not earn a lot of money, Abhishek won his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.
He also made a small appearance in the romantic comedy Hum Tum and starred in Phir Milenge. Although Phir Milenge was not a commercial hit, Abhishek won a Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Male for it.
Abhishek became more recognized in Hindi cinema when he played a tough police officer in the action thriller Dhoom (2004). This film was a big hit. His next film, Naach (2004), was not well-received.

In 2005, Abhishek starred in the crime comedy Bunty Aur Babli with Rani Mukerji. They played two clever con artists who fall in love. Personal Life

In October 2002, Abhishek Bachchan and actress Karisma Kapoor announced their engagement. However, they called off the engagement in January 2003.
Abhishek fell in love with Aishwarya Rai while they were filming Dhoom 2. They had worked together before in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Naa Kaho. Abhishek and Aishwarya announced their engagement on 14 January 2007, and his father, Amitabh Bachchan, later confirmed it.
The couple got married on 20 April 2007, following traditional Hindu customs. The wedding was a private ceremony at the Bachchan family home in Mumbai, but it was widely covered by the media. In September 2009, the couple appeared on the American talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show. They are often called a "supercouple" in the Indian media.
Aishwarya Rai gave birth to their daughter, Aaradhya, on 16 November 2011. Their daughter became quite popular and was often called "Beti B" by fans and the media before her name was officially announced. In 2023, Abhishek and his daughter filed a court case against several YouTube channels for publishing false information about her. The court ruled in their favor, ordering Google and YouTube to remove the videos.
