Deepika Padukone (born January 5, 1986) is a famous Indian actress who mainly works in Hindi films. She has won many awards, including three Filmfare Awards. In 2018, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Padukone is the daughter of badminton champion Prakash Padukone. She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and grew up in Bangalore, India. As a teenager, she was a national-level badminton player but decided to leave sports to become a fashion model. Soon, she started getting offers for movie roles.

Her first movie was the 2006 Kannada film Aishwarya. She became a huge star after her first Bollywood movie, Om Shanti Om (2007), where she acted opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika Padukone was born on January 5, 1986, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her parents are from India and speak the Konkani language. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a famous former badminton player, and her mother, Ujjala, is a travel agent. She has a younger sister, Anisha, who is a golfer.

When Padukone was one year old, her family moved to Bangalore, India. She went to Sophia High School and later Mount Carmel College. As a child, she was shy and didn't have many friends. Her main focus was badminton, which she played from a young age.

In 2023, Padukone reunited with Shah Rukh Khan for the action film Pathaan. The movie broke box-office records and became one of the biggest hits in Hindi cinema. She also had a special appearance in another blockbuster with Khan, Jawan. Her success in these films led India Today to call her the top actress for big-budget movies.

She continued acting in major action films in 2024. She starred with Hrithik Roshan in Fighter as an Indian Air Force officer.
