Rohit Shetty (born 14 March 1974) is a famous Indian filmmaker, stuntman, writer, producer, and TV host. He mostly works in Hindi cinema, which is also known as Bollywood. His movies are often a fun mix of action comedy and exciting masala films, which means they have a bit of everything: action, comedy, drama, and music!
Rohit Shetty became very well-known with his first Golmaal movie in 2006. This comedy film, starring Ajay Devgn and Arshad Warsi, became a surprise hit. He then made more successful movies in the series, like Golmaal Returns (2008) and Golmaal 3 (2010). Golmaal 3 was one of the highest-earning movies of that year.
After making many comedies, Shetty returned to action films with Singham in 2011. This movie also starred Ajay Devgn and became one of the biggest hits of the year. Singham then grew into a whole Cop Universe of movies, including Singham Returns (2014), Simmba (2018), and Sooryavanshi (2021). Other popular films he directed include All the Best: Fun Begins (2009), Bol Bachchan (2012), and Chennai Express (2013). Chennai Express, starring Shah Rukh Khan, became the highest-earning Hindi film at that time, even beating 3 Idiots.
Besides directing movies, Rohit Shetty has also hosted the exciting stunt-based adventure TV show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi since 2014.
