First Time with the Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals picked Karlos Dansby in the second round of the 2004 NFL draft. He was the third linebacker chosen that year. In August 2004, he signed a four-year contract with the Cardinals.
Karlos quickly became a starting outside linebacker for the team. In his first season (2004), he played in 15 games and started 11 of them. He made his first career sack against quarterback Michael Vick. He also got his first interception and forced a fumble.
In 2005, Karlos continued to shine. In the first game, he intercepted a pass and ran it back for his first career touchdown! Later that season, he scored another touchdown from an interception. He finished the 2005 season with 88 tackles, four sacks, and three interceptions.
By 2007, he was leading the team in tackles. The Cardinals kept him by using the "franchise tag" in 2008 and 2009. This meant they paid him a high salary to keep him on the team. In 2008, Karlos helped lead the Cardinals all the way to the Super Bowl. He had over 100 tackles and two interceptions that year.
In a playoff game against the Green Bay Packers in 2010, Karlos made a huge play. He recovered a fumble by quarterback Aaron Rodgers in overtime and ran it back for the winning touchdown! This was in one of the highest-scoring playoff games ever.
Playing for the Miami Dolphins
In March 2010, Karlos Dansby signed a big five-year contract with the Miami Dolphins. At the time, it was the largest contract ever for an inside linebacker in the NFL. He played for the Dolphins until March 2013.
Second Time with the Arizona Cardinals
Karlos Dansby returned to the Arizona Cardinals in May 2013, signing a one-year deal.
Time with the Cleveland Browns

Playing for the Cincinnati Bengals
Karlos Dansby then signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in March 2016.
Third and Final Time with the Arizona Cardinals
Karlos Dansby signed with the Arizona Cardinals for a third time in March 2017. In Week 9 of that season, he intercepted a pass and helped his team win. He was even named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his great play.
Karlos retired at the end of the 2017 season. Even though he was never chosen for the Pro Bowl, he had more career tackles than Hall of Fame player Brian Urlacher. Karlos finished his career with 1,422 tackles. He played on teams that didn't always win, but he was a consistent and strong player throughout his career.
