Katherine Anne Bosworth (born January 2, 1983) is an American actress. She started her acting career with smaller parts in movies like The Horse Whisperer (1998) and Remember the Titans (2000). She became well-known for her main role in the surfing movie Blue Crush (2002).
Kate Bosworth has also appeared in independent films. She played Dawn Schiller in Wonderland (2003). She also played Sandra Dee in the movie about Bobby Darin, Beyond the Sea (2004). Later, she played Lois Lane in Superman Returns (2006). She has also been in movies like 21 (2008) and Still Alice (2014). More recently, she starred in the science-fiction show The I-Land (2019) on Netflix.

Kate Bosworth was born in Los Angeles, California. She also lived in San Francisco when she was a child. Her mother, Patricia, was a homemaker. Her father, Harold Bosworth, worked as an executive. Kate is their only child.
She was born with a unique eye condition called heterochromia iridum. This means her right eye is hazel, and her left eye is blue. When she was six, her family moved often because of her father's job. She spent most of her childhood on the East Coast, living in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Kate became very interested in horse riding, especially stadium jumping. By the time she was 14, she was a champion horse rider. She finished high school in Cohasset, Massachusetts in 2001.

She dated actor Orlando Bloom from 2002 to 2005. In 2011, she started dating American director Michael Polish. They met when he directed her in the movie Big Sur. They got engaged in August 2012 and married on August 31, 2013, in Philipsburg, Montana. Kate became a stepmother to Jasper, Michael's daughter. She said Jasper was "the greatest unexpected gift." In August 2021, she announced that she and Michael were separating. They officially divorced in March 2023.
Kate Bosworth follows Mahayana Buddhism. She enjoys running, Pilates, and practicing meditation.
Her grandparents had Alzheimer's disease. Because of this, the book Still Alice was very important to her. She contacted the author, Lisa Genova. Later, she got a co-starring role in the movie version of the book.
In January 2022, it was reported that Kate Bosworth was in a relationship with actor Justin Long. In April 2023, they confirmed their engagement. A month later, Justin Long shared that they had gotten married. On July 18, 2025, Kate Bosworth and Justin Long welcomed their daughter.
