Kedar Mahadev Jadhav (born 26 March 1985) is an Indian politician and a former professional cricketer. He played for the India national cricket team and for the Maharashtra in domestic cricket. Kedar was a right-handed batter. He also sometimes kept wickets and bowled right-arm off-spin.
He played for several teams in the Indian Premier League, including Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils, and Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Kedar Jadhav made his first One Day International (ODI) match for India in November 2014. He played his first T20 International (T20I) match in July 2015. He helped India win the 2018 Asia Cup Final by scoring 23 runs. In April 2025, he joined the BJP.

Early Life and Cricket Beginnings
Kedar Jadhav was born on March 26, 1985, in Pune, India. His family originally came from a place called Jadhavwadi in Solapur district. He is the youngest of four children. His father, Mahadev Jadhav, worked as a clerk.
Kedar started playing cricket at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana in Pune. He first played in local tennis ball cricket games. Later, he was chosen for the Maharashtra under-19 team in 2004.
Domestic Cricket Career
Kedar Jadhav had a great career in Indian domestic cricket. In 2012, he scored an amazing 327 runs in a single match. This was his first triple century and the second-highest score ever by a Maharashtra player in the Ranji Trophy. He achieved this against the Uttar Pradesh team.
During the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy season, Kedar scored 1,223 runs. This included six centuries, which are scores of 100 runs or more. This huge effort helped Maharashtra reach the Ranji Trophy final for the first time since 1992–93. He also played for the India A and West Zone cricket team.
International Cricket Journey
Kedar Jadhav was first selected for the Indian team in June 2014 for a tour to Bangladesh. However, he did not play a match then. He made his official international debut in November 2014. This was an ODI match against Sri Lanka in Ranchi, where he scored 20 runs.
In July 2015, Kedar played in all three ODI matches against Zimbabwe. In the third match, he scored his first ODI century, making 105 runs without being out. During the same tour, he also played his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match.
In January 2017, Kedar Jadhav scored 120 runs off just 76 balls against England. He shared a huge 200-run partnership with captain Virat Kohli. This helped India win the match on his home ground. In the same series, he scored 90 runs in another match, almost leading India to victory. He was named the Player of the Series for scoring 232 runs. Kedar then played for India in the Champions Trophy 2017.
In April 2019, Kedar Jadhav was chosen for India's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on June 3, 2024.
Indian Premier League (IPL)
Kedar Jadhav started his IPL journey with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) development squad. In 2010, he was signed by Delhi Daredevils. He made a big impact in his first IPL match, scoring 50 runs off 29 balls against RCB.
The next year, he played for a new team, Kochi Tuskers Kerala. In 2013, he returned to Delhi Daredevils. Later, in 2016, he was traded back to Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2018, the Chennai Super Kings picked him. However, he had to leave the tournament early due to a hamstring injury. In 2021, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him in the IPL auction. He was not bought by any team in the 2022 IPL auctions.
Business Ventures
In April 2024, Kedar Jadhav's fitness and sports nutrition brand, Explosive Whey, partnered with the famous cricketer MS Dhoni. Dhoni became an investor and brand ambassador for the protein supplement product.
Political Career
Kedar Jadhav officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on April 8, 2025. He joined the party in the presence of Maharashtra Minister and BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
