History of Kellogg
Kellogg was started in 1870. It was named after someone who made signs for the railroad. A post office opened in Kellogg in 1872. The town officially became a city in 1877.

The Mississippi River Lock and Dam No. 4 is located close to Kellogg. This is an important structure that helps boats travel on the river.
The Empire Builder train, run by Amtrak, goes through Kellogg. This train travels between Seattle/Portland and Chicago. However, the train does not stop in Kellogg. The closest train station is in Winona, which is about 27 miles (43 km) away.
