A Look at Kerrick's History

Kerrick got its name from Cassius M. Kerrick. He was an important person who worked for the Great Northern Railway as a master mechanic and conductor.

Interestingly, the name "Kerrick" was first used for the nearby community of Duquette. Later, the Great Northern Railway moved its train station three miles south. The name "Kerrick" moved with the station to the new spot. For a while, Duquette was called "Old Kerrick," and the new location was called "New Kerrick." This changed in 1905 when the Duquette post office was set up, and the names were officially corrected.
