About the Kesagami River
The Kesagami River is in the northeastern part of Ontario. A large section of the river is part of Kesagami Provincial Park. This protected area covers about 112 kilometers (70 miles) of the river. The park helps keep the river and its natural surroundings safe.
The River's Journey
The Kesagami River starts at a small, unnamed lake. This lake is located in an area called the Abitibi Uplands. From its source, the river flows north. It then reaches a larger body of water known as Kesagami Lake.
After leaving Kesagami Lake, the river continues its journey north. It quickly drops down into an area called the James Bay Lowlands. Along its path, many smaller rivers and streams join the Kesagami River. Finally, the Kesagami River flows into the Harricana River. This meeting point is very close to where the Harricana River itself flows into James Bay.
