Kimberly Marie Glass (born August 18, 1984) is an American indoor volleyball player and model. She is about 6 feet 2.5 inches (189 cm) tall and plays as an outside hitter. Kim joined the U.S. national team on May 23, 2007. Glass made her first Olympic appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, helping Team USA win a silver medal.

Early Life and High School Years

Kim Glass was born in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Sherman and Kathy Glass. She has two brothers, Darryl and Marcius, and two sisters, Shalana and Shaynce.

Kim grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She went to Conestoga Valley High School. There, she played volleyball for three years. In 2001, she was named the Pennsylvania State Gatorade Player of the Year. She was also the Lancaster-Lebanon League MVP in 2000 and 2001. Kim played for the U.S. junior national team in 2001. This team competed at the Women's Junior World Championships. She also played club volleyball for Synergy for four years.

College Volleyball Career

Kim Glass was a star player for the University of Arizona volleyball team. She was named an AVCA All-American three times. She was also chosen for the All-Pac-10 team four times.

She holds the record for most kills at Arizona with 2,151. This also ranks her third all-time in the Pac-10 conference. On average, she made 5.27 kills, 2.84 digs, 0.70 blocks, and 0.40 aces per game. Kim scored double-digit kills in 105 of her 115 matches. She also had 20 or more kills 54 times.

Glass set a school record with 162 aces. She is third in career digs with 1,158. She also made 77 solo blocks, which is eighth all-time for the Wildcats.

In 2002, she was an AVCA Second Team All-American. She was also named the National Freshman of the Year. In 2003, she was a Third Team All-American. As a senior in 2005, Glass was selected for the AVCA All-America First-Team. She helped Arizona reach the regional final in the NCAA tournament.

Kim Glass was the first player from Arizona and only the fourth in Pac-10 history to reach 2,000 kills.

Kim Glass has a lot of experience playing volleyball for her country.

She was part of the U.S. women's junior national team. This team played in the 2001 FIVB World Junior Championships. She also played for the U.S. women's junior national team in the 2002 NORCECA Continental Women's Junior Championships.

International Highlights

In her first international experience with the U.S. women's national team, Kim averaged 3.39 points per set at the FIVB World Grand Prix. She ranked 10th among all scorers during the preliminary round. She attacked with a 0.346 percentage, making 2.61 kills per set.

During the World Grand Prix, she averaged 0.97 digs, 0.39 aces, and 0.39 blocks. She started only four of 11 matches at the FIVB World Cup. However, she played in 29 sets. She averaged 2.45 points, 1.79 kills, 0.34 blocks, 1.21 digs, and 0.31 aces per set. She scored 12 points against Cuba on November 3. She also scored 11 points against Thailand on November 10 and Japan on November 15.

Professional Volleyball Career

Kim Glass has played for several professional volleyball teams around the world.

She played for Pinkin de Corozal in Puerto Rico's Super League. She was the top scorer in the league during the regular season. She led her team to the tournament semifinals. In 2007, she joined Fenerbahçe Women's Volleyball Team in Turkey. Her U.S. national teammate Therese Crawford also played there.

Other Ventures and Modeling

While in college, Kim Glass tried out five times for Tyra Banks' TV show, America's Next Top Model.

In 2011, Glass appeared in the famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

She also competed on a special episode of the MTV reality series The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars. This show first aired on November 21, 2017. Kim almost reached the final challenge but lost a coin toss for the last spot.

Kim Glass also works with the homeless population in Los Angeles. On The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars, she played for the charity Covenant House. This organization helps young people who are experiencing homelessness.

Today, Glass is featured in the mobile phone app, Headspace. She hosts a series of guided sessions that focus on movement and mindfulness.
