Kim So-eun (born September 6, 1989) is a famous actress from South Korea. She became well-known in 2009 after starring in the very popular TV show Boys Over Flowers. Since then, she has acted in many other dramas like Happiness in the Wind (2010), Liar Game (2014), and Three Bold Siblings (2022–23). Kim So-eun has won several awards for her acting, including "Best New Actress."

Kim So-eun's Acting Journey
Early Roles and Big Break (2004–2009)
Kim So-eun started acting in 2004 with a small part in the movie Two Guys. She was still in junior high school at the time. After that, she had minor roles in other TV shows and films. These included Sisters of the Sea and The Show Must Go On.
Her big break came in 2009 with the hit drama Boys Over Flowers. She played the main character's best friend. In the same year, Kim also impressed viewers in the historical drama Empress Cheonchu. For this role, she learned how to ride a horse and use a bow and arrow. She then acted as an older woman in the romantic comedy He Who Can't Marry.
Becoming a Main Actress (2010–2012)
In 2010, Kim So-eun got her first main role in the daily drama Happiness in the Wind. This show helped her become even more popular in Korea and other countries.
She then starred in the weekend drama A Thousand Kisses (2011-2012). This show looked at relationships where there was a big age difference.
In 2012, she acted in a Chinese drama called Secret Angel. It was shown online. She also returned to Korean TV in the drama Happy Ending. That same year, she was on a reality show called Music and Lyrics. On the show, she worked with singer Lee Junho to create a song. They wrote "Love is Sad," which Lee Junho later sang.
After playing Princess Sukhwi in the historical drama The King's Doctor (2012–2013), Kim starred in After School: Lucky or Not. This show was available online and on mobile phones. She also hosted a variety show called Glitter with Victoria Song.
Recent Projects (2014–Present)
In 2014, Kim So-eun starred in the horror movie Mourning Grave. She played a ghost girl who becomes friends with a boy who can see ghosts. She then took on a main role in Liar Game, a Korean TV show based on a Japanese comic book. Kim also joined the reality show We Got Married. On this show, she was "virtually married" to Song Jae-rim. This made them both very popular.
In 2015, Kim starred in Scholar Who Walks the Night, playing two different characters. She also worked on a Korean-Chinese movie called Sky Lantern. The same year, she starred in the web drama Falling for Challenge with Xiumin.
In 2016, Kim joined a new management company. From 2016 to 2017, she played the main character in the family drama Our Gap-soon.
In 2017, Kim starred in a special TV drama called You're Closer than I Think. She also confirmed her return to movies with the romance fantasy film Are you in love? with Sung Hoon.
In 2018, Kim starred in the romantic comedy series That Man Oh Soo. In 2021, she signed with a new agency called Ascendio Reserve.
Other Interests and Activities
When Kim So-eun was a child, she was a professional skier. She was very good and trained for national competitions. She was discovered as a model during a skiing competition in 2003. Even though she became an actress, she still loves skiing. She even appeared in videos about skiing in 2012.
Kim has also appeared in many fashion magazines like Allure Korea and Vogue Korea. She has supported different products as well.
She cares about art films, helping young people, and living in a way that protects the environment. She has been a special ambassador for several film festivals and events. These include the Korea International Youth Film Festival and the Green Film Festival.
