History of Kimball
A post office opened in Kimball in 1887. Before that, people lived in a settlement called Maine Prairie. When the railroad came through Kimball, the settlement moved to be closer to the new train tracks.
The city was named after Frye Kimball, who was one of the first people to settle there. Kimball has one special building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is an important historical place. It is the Kimball City Hall, built in 1908.
