Kori Udovički (Serbian Cyrillic: Кори Удовички, born 4 December 1961) is a Serbian economist and former politician. She has held several important roles in the Serbian government. From 2014 to 2016, she was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

Before that, she was the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia from 2003 to 2004. She also served as Minister of Mining and Energy from 2002 to 2003. Kori Udovički has also worked for the United Nations. From 2007 to 2012, she was an Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, and a director for the UNDP in Europe.

Early Life and Family

Kori Udovički was born in La Paz, Bolivia. Her father was from Serbia, and her mother was from Bolivia. She is married and has three children. Her maternal uncle, Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada, was a former President of Bolivia. Her father, Lazar Udovički, was a politician in Yugoslavia. He also served as an ambassador. Kori's sister, Lenka, is married to the famous actor Rade Šerbedžija.

Education and Career in Government

Kori Udovički studied economics at the University of Belgrade in Serbia. She graduated in 1984. Later, she continued her studies at Yale University in the United States. She earned her master's degree in 1988 and her PhD in economics in 1999. Her research focused on trade between the different parts of former Yugoslavia. She also studied how stable Serbia's economy was.

From 1993 to 2001, Kori Udovički worked at the IMF in Washington, D.C. The IMF is an organization that helps countries with their money and economies. After that, she returned to Serbia. She became a special advisor to the Serbian Minister of Finance.

In 2002, she became the Minister of Energy and Mining in the Serbian Government. This role involved managing Serbia's energy resources. On July 23, 2003, she was appointed Governor of the National Bank of Serbia. She held this important position until February 25, 2004. Her appointment was later ended because of a problem with how a vote was cast in the Serbian parliament.
