La Salle Community
- La Salle is the main community in the township. It's located in the northern part, where South Dixie Highway (M-125) meets LaPlaisance Road. This area was first settled way back in 1831. It has had a post office since 1834, which is still open today. Most of the township uses the La Salle 48145 ZIP Code.
Morocco: A Former Community

Toledo Beach: From Amusement Park to Marina
- Toledo Beach was once a popular summer resort right on Lake Erie. It even had its own train station! In 1907, a big amusement park was built here, covering about 400 acres. People could ride a trolley from Toledo, Ohio, to get to the park. The amusement park had many fun attractions, including a dance hall and train rides. However, the trolley line closed in 1927, and the park faced financial problems. It closed down and was replaced by the Toledo Beach Marina in 1962.
Winchester: A Historic Settlement
- Winchester was a settlement located where Otter Creek meets Lake Erie. It might have been named after General James Winchester, who helped protect the area during the War of 1812. This historic community and its post office appear on an 1876 map of La Salle Township.
