Ladislav Nagy (born June 1, 1979) is a former professional ice hockey player from Slovakia. He was a talented left winger. Ladislav played for eight seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). This is one of the biggest hockey leagues in the world! He played for teams like the St. Louis Blues, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and Los Angeles Kings.

Early Life
Ladislav Nagy was born on June 1, 1979. His family was ethnically Hungarian. He was born in a place called Šaca, which is a part of Košice. At that time, Košice was in Czechoslovakia.
Hockey Career
Starting His Hockey Journey
When he was young, Ladislav played in a big hockey tournament. It was the 1993 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. He played with a team from Poprad, Slovakia. In 1995, he started his junior career. He played for HC Košice in the Slovak Extraliga.
In 1997, the St. Louis Blues picked him in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 177th player chosen overall. After being drafted, Ladislav moved to North America. He joined the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL for the 1998–99 season. Fans loved him there!
Playing in the NHL
Ladislav made his professional debut in 1999. He played in the AHL playoffs for the Worcester Ice Cats. He then played for the St. Louis Blues from 1999 to 2001. After that, he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes.
While playing for the Coyotes, Ladislav had some great seasons. From 2001 to 2004, he scored more than 20 goals each year. He also had over 50 points in a few seasons. A point is when a player scores a goal or helps another player score.
In 2007, Ladislav was traded again. He went to the Dallas Stars. Later that year, he signed with the Los Angeles Kings. Unfortunately, he was injured during the 2007–08 season. This meant he could only play in 38 games.
Playing in Europe
In 2008, Ladislav decided to play in Russia. He signed with Severstal Cherepovets in the KHL. This is another major hockey league, but it's in Europe and Asia. He hoped to get back to his best form there.
In 2010, he moved to Sweden. He played for Modo Hockey for the rest of that season. Later, in 2013, Ladislav returned to his home club, HC Košice, in Slovakia.
His Final Season
Ladislav Nagy played his last professional season in 2018–19. He ended his 23-year career in Slovakia. This was special because Slovakia was hosting the 2019 World Championships. In his very last game, Ladislav was the captain for Slovakia. He even scored the winning goal in a shootout against Denmark on May 21, 2019! What a way to finish his career!
International Achievements
Ladislav Nagy also played for his home country, Slovakia, in many international tournaments. He won several medals for his country.
