Lake Benton is a small city in Lincoln County, Minnesota, United States. In 2020, about 687 people lived there.
The city is named after the large lake next to it, which is also called Lake Benton. This lake is about 7 miles (11 km) long. The city is located on a high area called the Buffalo Ridge. You can also find the radio tower for KARZ-FM here, which broadcasts to Marshall. The area is also home to the Norgaard Wind Project, which uses wind power to create electricity.

History of Lake Benton
A post office opened in Lake Benton in 1873. This means people could send and receive mail there. The city was officially planned and marked out in 1879. It was named after the nearby Lake Benton. From 1882 to 1902, Lake Benton was the main town, or "county seat," for Lincoln County.
Geography and Location
Lake Benton covers a total area of about 4.62 square miles (11.97 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 3.78 square miles (9.79 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.84 square miles (2.18 square kilometers), is water.
Two important roads, U.S. Highways 14 and 75, pass through the community. These highways help people travel to and from Lake Benton.
