Lake of Bays is a freshwater lake located in the Kenora District of Northwestern Ontario, Canada. It is part of a large area where water eventually flows into Hudson Bay.
Water Flow and Connections
This lake is like a busy hub for water. It has two main rivers that flow into it. The Bays River enters from the southeast. The Lake of Bays River also flows in from the northeast.
Outflow to Hudson Bay
The main river flowing out of Lake of Bays is the Lake of Bays River. It leaves the lake from the north. This river then connects to a series of other rivers. These include the Sturgeon River, the Marchington River, the English River, the Winnipeg River, and finally the Nelson River. All these rivers carry the water all the way to Hudson Bay. This entire system of rivers and lakes is called a drainage basin.
