Larkfield-Wikiup is a special kind of community in Sonoma County, California, United States. It's called a census-designated place, which means it's an area defined for gathering population data, but it doesn't have its own city government.
In 2010, about 8,884 people lived here. This was more than the 7,479 people counted in 2000. Larkfield-Wikiup is located in the Mark West area. It sits between the cities of Santa Rosa to the south and Windsor to the north. To its east is Calistoga, and to its west is Fulton.
The community is home to several schools. These include Cardinal Newman High School, John B. Riebli Elementary School, Mark West Elementary, and San Miguel Elementary schools.

This community covers an area of about 5.31 square miles (13.75 square kilometers). All of this area is land. Even though there are no large lakes or rivers, the Mark West Creek flows through the region. This creek usually has water during certain times of the year.

Population in 2010
The 2010 United States Census showed that 8,884 people lived in Larkfield-Wikiup. This means there were about 1,674 people living per square mile (646 people per square kilometer).
Most of the people, about 79.3%, identified as White. Other groups included African American (0.9%), Native American (1.9%), and Asian (3.3%). About 9.9% of the population identified with other races, and 4.5% identified with two or more races. People of Hispanic or Latino background made up 22.3% of the population.

Major Wildfires Affecting the Community
Larkfield-Wikiup has been impacted by large wildfires in recent years. These fires caused significant damage to the area.
The Tubbs Fire in 2017
In October 2017, the Tubbs Fire swept through the Larkfield-Wikiup area. This fire destroyed around 500 homes in the community. The Tubbs Fire started in the Mark West Springs area. It eventually destroyed over 5,000 buildings across Sonoma and Napa counties.
The Kincade Fire in 2019
The Kincade Fire began on October 23, 2019, near The Geysers. On its first day, the fire quickly grew to cover 10,000 acres (4,000 hectares). This fire led to many people being asked to leave their homes in Sonoma County, including those in Larkfield. The fire came very close to the community during strong winds. It even burned parts of the area that had been damaged by the Tubbs Fire just two years before.
