A Look Back in Time

Lilbourn got its name from an early settler called Lilbourn Lewis. The city's first post office opened in 1902. This means people could send and receive mail there over a hundred years ago!

Lilbourn is mainly found along Missouri Route D, which is also known as 3rd Street. It is about 1.5 miles north of where Route D meets U.S. Route 62.

To the northwest of Lilbourn, you'll find a small village called North Lilbourn. The city of New Madrid is about four miles to the east. Marston is five miles south.

The Little River flows about 1.5 miles west of Lilbourn. A railway, the St. Louis Southwestern Railway, also passes through the southern part of the community.
