Lilakoi Moon (born Lisa Michelle Bonet on November 16, 1967) is an American actress. She is famous for playing Denise Huxtable on the TV show The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992. This role brought her much praise. She was even nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1986. Lisa also played Denise in the first season of the spin-off series A Different World.

She also appeared in the psychological horror film Angel Heart (1987). For this role, she was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. Bonet has acted in other movies too. These include the action thriller Enemy of the State (1998) and the comedy-drama High Fidelity (2000). She also starred in Biker Boyz (2003) and Road to Paloma (2013). She has also taken on TV roles. These include Maya Daniels in Life on Mars (2008–2009) and Marisol on Ray Donovan (2016).

Lisa Michelle Bonet was born on November 16, 1967, in California. Her mother, Arlene Joyce Litman, was a schoolteacher. Her father, Allen Bonet, was an opera singer. Lisa's parents separated when she was a baby. She was raised by her mother in Reseda.

Lisa has five half-sisters and two half-brothers. One of her half-sisters is the singer Kadhja Bonet. Lisa went to Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California. She later studied acting at the Celluloid Actor's Studio.

Acting Career Highlights

Lisa Bonet started her career early. She was in beauty competitions and had small roles on TV shows. Her big break came when she got the part of Denise Huxtable. Denise was the second-oldest child on The Cosby Show. Her TV parents were Cliff and Clair Huxtable. Later, Denise became the stepmother to Olivia Kendall.

In 1987, when she was 19, Bonet played Epiphany Proudfoot in the movie Angel Heart. She acted alongside Mickey Rourke in this film. For her work in Angel Heart, Bonet was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In 1986, Bonet was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. This was for her role as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. After a while, Bonet left A Different World. She returned to The Cosby Show the next year. However, she left the show in 1991 due to "creative differences."

On November 16, 1987, her 20th birthday, Lisa Bonet married American rock singer Lenny Kravitz. They got married in Las Vegas. Bonet and Kravitz had a daughter, actress Zoë Isabella Kravitz, born on December 1, 1988. Lisa and Lenny divorced in 1993. In the same year, she legally changed her name to Lilakoi Moon. However, she still uses Lisa Bonet for her acting work.

Since 1987, Bonet has been good friends with actress Marisa Tomei. Marisa is a godmother to all three of Bonet's children.

In 2005, Bonet started a relationship with actor Jason Momoa. They got married in October 2017. Bonet and Momoa have two children. Their daughter was born in July 2007, and their son was born in December 2008. In January 2022, Momoa and Bonet announced their separation. On January 8, 2024, Bonet filed for divorce. The divorce was finalized on July 9, 2024. Both Bonet and Momoa agreed on how to share their assets. They also received joint custody of their children.
