Early Life and Musical Beginnings

So that was the time in my life where I really leaned on music as a way to stay sane," she shared in an interview.

After high school, Lissie spent two years at Colorado State University. While there, she often performed as an opening act for other musicians visiting the city. She also worked with DJ Harry on a song called "All My Life." This song was later used in popular TV shows like House and The O.C.. After studying abroad in Paris for a semester, she decided to focus fully on her music career.
