The Governor of Haryana is a very important person in the Indian state of Haryana. Think of them as the President's representative in the state. Who is the Governor of Haryana?
The Governor is the head of the state, but their role is mostly ceremonial. First Governors of Haryana
- Dharma Vira was the very first Governor of Haryana. He served from November 1, 1966, to September 14, 1967. He was appointed by President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
- Birendra Narayan Chakraborty became the second Governor. He had a long term, from September 15, 1967, to March 26, 1976. President Zakir Husain appointed him.
- Ranjit Singh Narula was an acting Governor for a short time, from March 27, 1976, to August 13, 1976. He was a Chief Justice.
- Jaisukh Lal Hathi took over on August 14, 1976, and served until September 23, 1977. He was appointed by President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.

- Harcharan Singh Brar was Governor from September 24, 1977, to December 9, 1979. President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy appointed him.
- Surjit Singh Sandhawalia was another acting Governor, serving from December 10, 1979, to February 27, 1980.
- Ganpatrao Devji Tapase served from February 28, 1980, to June 13, 1984.
