Little Falls is a small town located in Herkimer County, New York, United States. In 2010, about 1,587 people lived there. The town gets its name from the waterfalls and fast-moving water on the nearby Mohawk River.
The town of Little Falls is next to the separate city of Little Falls on its eastern side. Both the town and the city are located east of Utica. The town was officially created in 1829 from a part of the town of Herkimer.

The important Mohawk River flows through the middle of the town. The Erie Canal, a famous waterway, also crosses this central area. These waterways have played a big role in the town's history and transportation.
