Little Sarsfield Lake is a small lake located in Bompas Township, which is part of the Timiskaming District in northeastern Ontario, Canada. This lake is an important part of the James Bay drainage basin, meaning its water eventually flows towards James Bay. It is also the starting point for Sarsfield Creek.
About the Lake
Little Sarsfield Lake is about 1,000 meters (or 1 kilometer) long and 200 meters wide. It does not have any large rivers flowing into it. The main way water leaves the lake is through Sarsfield Creek.
Water Flow to James Bay
The water from Little Sarsfield Lake travels a long way to reach James Bay. After leaving the lake, Sarsfield Creek flows into Woollings Creek. From there, the water continues into the Whiteclay River, then the Black River, and finally the Abitibi River. The Abitibi River then joins the Moose River, which empties into James Bay.
