Woollings Creek is a small river, also called a creek, located in the northern part of Ontario, Canada. It flows through two areas: Timiskaming District and Cochrane District. This creek is part of a bigger water system that eventually leads to James Bay. It's an important branch, or tributary, of the Whiteclay River.
Where Woollings Creek Flows
The creek starts its journey at a place called Big Finlander Lake. This lake is in a town called Black River-Matheson, which is in the Cochrane District. From there, it flows mostly southeast. It then curves northeast and southeast around a place called Gipsy Mountain. After this, it reaches Meyers Lake.
The creek then enters a different area, Lee Township, in the Timiskaming District. Here, two smaller streams join Woollings Creek. One is called Sarsfield Creek, which joins from the right side. The other is Benoit Creek, joining from the left side.
Woollings Creek continues its path southeast into Maisonville Township. Finally, it reaches its end at Swan Lake. Swan Lake is also the starting point for the Whiteclay River. The Whiteclay River then flows into the Black River, which joins the Abitibi River. The Abitibi River then flows into the Moose River, and finally, all this water reaches James Bay.
Woollings Creek does not flow through any towns or cities. The closest community to where the creek ends is Sesekinika, which is about 5.8 kilometers (3.6 miles) away.
