Llechog is a cool mountain peak in Wales. It's part of the huge Snowdon mountain group, which is also called a "massif." Llechog is actually a smaller top of a bigger mountain called Garnedd Ugain.

This peak is known for its long line of cliffs. These cliffs start near the town of Llanberis and stretch all the way to Garnedd Ugain.

What is Llechog?

Llechog is a rocky peak that stands out from steep cliffs. These cliffs drop sharply down into a valley called Nant Peris. The name "Llechog" comes from the Welsh language and means "slaty," "rocky," or "stony." This name perfectly describes the mountain's look!

Amazing Views from the Top

If you ever reach the top of Llechog, you'll see some incredible views. You can look out and admire other famous mountains. These include Glyder Fawr, Y Garn, Elidir Fawr, and Crib Goch. It's a great spot to see how tall and impressive these mountains are.

The Snowdon Mountain Railway

Close to Llechog, you'll find Clogwyn Station. This is a stop on the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway. This railway helps people get closer to the top of Snowdon, making it easier to explore the area.

Another Llechog?

Did you know there's another place with the same name? About half a mile southwest of the main Snowdon summit, you can find another spot called Llechog. This one overlooks a valley known as Cwm Clogwyn.
