You can reach Lora from Abbottabad by a road called Ghora Gali-Shah Maqsood. It takes about 3 hours by bus or 2 hours by car. The popular hill station of Murree is also quite close, about 22 kilometers away. You can get there in about 40 minutes.

Lora is in the southern part of the Abbottabad District. It sits within Havelian Tehsil, which is a smaller administrative area. Lora is surrounded by other Union Councils. To the north are Nara and Nagri Totial. To the east is Nagri Totial, to the south is Goreeni, and to the west is Phallah.
A river called the Haro River flows through Lora. The Khanpur Dam is built on this river. Local farmers in Lora grow seasonal crops. These include maize, which is also known as makai, and wheat, which is called gandum.

Life and Economy in Lora
Lora has always been an important place for business. It is a central hub for six nearby Union Councils. These include Lora itself, Goreeni, Phallah, Nagri Tutial, Seer Sharqi, and Seer Gharbi.
Many people from Lora work in bigger cities like Islamabad and Rawalpindi. This is because it's easy to travel there using the Ghora Gali-Rawalpindi road. Some residents also work in cities like Lahore and Karachi. A number of people from Lora also live and work in other countries, especially in the Middle East and Europe.
The area is quite successful and people generally live well. This is partly because of the good economic conditions. Money sent home from family members working abroad also helps the local economy.
