About Lord Tim Hudson

Early Life and Moving to Music

George Timothy Brumwell was born on 11 February 1940 in Prestbury, Cheshire, England. He went to school in Cumberland and Strathallan School in Perthshire. His father passed away during World War II. In 1948, his mother married Henry Hudson.

In 1961, Tim Hudson moved to London. After spending some time in France, he returned to London in 1963. He worked for a company that made pressure cookers. However, he soon decided he wanted to work in the music industry.

Becoming a DJ and Music Manager

Hudson then moved to Montreal, Canada. There, he became a DJ on a radio station called CKGM. He called himself "Lord Tim of Liverpool".

When The Beatles went on their 1965 North American concert tour, a radio station in San Diego, KCBQ, hired Hudson. He told people he was a record producer and knew The Beatles. He also said he helped discover the band The Moody Blues. Hudson made radio broadcasts to promote The Beatles' shows in San Diego. He even got permission to travel with the band and send back exclusive reports to KCBQ.

Later, Hudson got a popular evening show on KFWB radio in Los Angeles. This show lasted for about a year and a half, from 1965 to 1966. In March 1966, he presented singer Nancy Sinatra with a gold disc. This award celebrated her song "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" selling a million copies.

In 1967, Hudson became the manager for the band The Seeds. He helped promote their music and wrote notes for their album covers. He even claimed he created the phrase "flower power". Later, he managed another band called The Lollipop Shoppe. By 1969, he left the music business.

Voice Acting and Other Ventures

Lord Tim Hudson was also a voice actor in the 1960s and 1970s. He lent his voice to two famous Disney movies. He was Dizzy the Vulture in The Jungle Book (1967). He also voiced 'Hip Cat' the English cat in The Aristocats (1970).

In the early 1970s, he bought property in Hollywood. He also started what he said was the first organic food restaurant in Hollywood. Later in that decade, he had his own radio show called Hudson's Theater of the Mind. It was on a non-commercial radio station, KXLU.

Return to England and Cricket

In 1984, Hudson moved back to England. He bought a large house called Birtles Old Hall near Macclesfield in Cheshire. The property had its own cricket ground. Hudson loved cricket. He invited the famous professional cricketer Ian Botham to play a match there.

Hudson hosted celebrity cricket matches at his ground, which was known as the "Birtles Bowl". These matches took place throughout the 1980s. He later sold both the house and the cricket ground.

Later Life and Legacy

In 1990, Hudson moved back to the U.S. and lived in Palm Springs, California. Some of his paintings were shown in art exhibits. He also continued to work as a radio DJ. His autobiography, a book about his life, called From the Beatles to Botham, was published in 2014.
