Lord of the Rings: Conquest is a video game based on The Lord of the Rings movies. It's a game where you control characters in big battles. The game was made by Pandemic Studios and published by EA Games. You can play this game on PC and PlayStation 3.

Gameplay

Playable Classes

In the game, you can choose to play as different types of fighters. Each one has special skills and attacks.

• Warrior: This character is great at fighting up close. Warriors use a sword and can also throw an axe. They have special moves like a fiery sword attack and a "crowd-breaker" move, which is useful when many enemies are around.

• Scout: Scouts are quick and sneaky. They use two knives and can throw bombs from a distance. Scouts can also turn invisible to sneak up on enemies. Their special "back-stab" attack can defeat an enemy in one hit. Scouts are especially good at fighting trolls.

• Archer: Archers are experts with a bow and arrows. They can't block attacks, but they can zoom in to aim better. They have different types of arrows, including poison arrows that slowly hurt enemies over time. They also have powerful fire arrows that explode and cause a lot of damage.

• Mage: Mages use magic to fight their enemies. Their spells include lightning bolts that can hit one enemy or bounce between several. They can also create a firewall to damage enemies who get too close. Mages can use a shield to block attacks and even heal themselves or allies. They also have a strong attack that creates an earthquake.

Game Modes

You can play Lord of the Rings: Conquest by yourself or with other players.

• Tutorial: This is where you learn how to play the game. It teaches you the moves for each type of fighter. The tutorial takes place during the Battle of the Last Alliance, where elves and men fight against Sauron.

• Campaign Mode: This mode lets you play through a story that follows the movies. There are 16 levels in total. You play 8 levels as the "good" side and 8 levels as the "evil" side. You must finish the good campaign first to unlock the evil one. You can play the campaign alone or with a friend. There are four difficulty settings: easy, normal, difficult, or heroic.

• Instant Action: This mode lets you jump right into different battles. There are about 16 different battle scenarios, plus two more you can download. You can choose from several game types:
  • Team Death Match: Your goal is to defeat as many enemies as possible.
  • Capture the Ring: You need to take the Ring of Power to the enemy's base.
  • Conquest: The main goal is to control as many bases as you can for as long as possible.
  • Hero Team Death Match: This is like Team Death Match, but you only play as powerful hero characters.

You can play Instant Action online with other players. However, the Campaign mode can only be played with a friend you know and have added to your game.

  Hugo Weaving reprises his role as Elrond. He is the only original cast member to appear in the game outside of cutscenes.
