Lynd is a small city in Lyon County, Minnesota, United States. In 2020, about 436 people lived there. Lynd is a growing community in southwestern Minnesota.
New homes and a golf course are helping the city grow. Many people who live in Lynd work in the nearby city of Marshall. Long ago, Lynd was more important in the area. The Kiel and Morgan Hotel in Lynd was the first main government building for Lyon County.

History
The Story of Lynd
Lynd was officially planned and marked out in 1888. The city is named after James Lynd. He was a state senator, a person who helps make laws for the state. He died during a historical event called the Attack at the Lower Sioux Agency.

Lynd covers a total area of about 3.02 square kilometers (1.17 square miles). Most of this area is land, and a very small part is water.
The Redwood River flows through the city. Minnesota State Highway 23 is a main road that goes through Lynd.
