Malaika Arora (born on October 23, 1973) is a famous Indian actress, dancer, and model. She is also a well-known television host and a VJ (Video Jockey), which means she used to introduce music videos on TV. Malaika mostly works in Hindi films.
She started her own film production company in 2008 with her former husband, Arbaaz Khan. Their company, Arbaaz Khan Productions, created the popular Dabangg film series. Malaika has acted in films like Kaante (2002) and EMI (2008). She is also very famous for her dance performances in many hit songs, such as Chaiyya Chaiyya (1998) and Munni Badnaam Hui (2010).

About Malaika's Early Life
Malaika Arora's name comes from the Swahili word malaika, which means "angel". She was born in Thane, Maharashtra, India. When she was 11 years old, her parents got divorced. She then moved to Chembur with her mother and her sister, Amrita Arora.
Her mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Christian. Her father, Anil Arora, was a Punjabi Hindu from Fazilka, a town near the Indian border. He worked in the Indian Merchant Navy.
Malaika went to Swami Vivekanand School in Chembur for her high school education. She also studied at Holy Cross High School Thane until ninth grade. She started college at Jai Hind College in Churchgate. However, she did not finish her degree because she began her professional career. Before she started modeling, she lived in Borla Society in Chembur.
Malaika's Career Journey
Malaika Arora began her career as a VJ for MTV India when the channel first started. She hosted shows like Club MTV and later co-hosted Love Line and Style Check with Cyrus Broacha.
After being a VJ, Malaika started modeling. She appeared in many advertisements. She also became famous for dancing in music videos and special songs in films. One of her most well-known dance performances was in the song "Chaiyya Chaiyya" from the 1998 Bollywood film Dil Se...
In 2010, she performed in the popular song "Munni Badnaam Hui" from the film Dabangg. Her former husband, Arbaaz Khan, produced this movie. On March 12, 2011, Malaika helped set a world record! She led 1235 people in a choreographed dance to "Munni Badnaam", which was a huge achievement.
Malaika was also a celebrity endorser for Taiwan Excellence in 2012. She also promoted Dabur's 30-Plus product. She has mentioned that she never planned to become an actress. She has performed live in concerts with other famous artists like Atif Aslam and Bipasha Basu in cities like Birmingham and London.
In 2014, she made a special appearance as herself in the action-comedy film Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan.

Malaika has been a judge on many popular television shows. She was one of the three judges on the dance reality show Nach Baliye, which aired in 2005. She continued as a judge for Nach Baliye 2 in 2006. On these shows, she often performed dance numbers to inspire the contestants.
She also appeared as a judge on Zara Nachke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2010. Malaika is a regular judge on the show India's Got Talent. In 2019, she was a judge and host for MTV Supermodel of the Year. She also judged India's Best Dancer in 2020.
Malaika's Personal Life

Malaika Arora married Bollywood actor, director, and producer Arbaaz Khan in 1998. They first met during a coffee advertisement shoot. After her marriage, she was known as Malaika Arora Khan. They announced their separation on March 28, 2016, and officially divorced on May 11, 2017.
Malaika and Arbaaz have one son together, named Arhaan Khan, who was born on November 9, 2002. After their divorce, Malaika received primary custody of their son. Arbaaz Khan's brothers, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan, were her former brothers-in-law. Their father, Salim Khan, is a famous scriptwriter.
Malaika Arora started a relationship with actor Arjun Kapoor in 2016. They later broke up in 2024.
In 2020, Malaika became a vegan, which means she does not eat any animal products.
In April 2022, she was involved in a car accident on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway. She was taken to the Apollo Hospital in Navi Mumbai and received medical care. She recovered well from the accident.
