Mandar Dnyaneshwar Agashe (born on May 24, 1969) is an Indian businessman and music director. He also used to be a musician. He started a company called Sarvatra Technologies in 2000. He has been the managing director of this company since it began.
As a musician, he is known for his pop and rock music. He released songs in Hindi and English with Sony BMG in the 1990s and 2000s. He also directed music for Marathi ghazal albums. These albums featured famous singers like Asha Bhosle in 2016 and Rahul Deshpande in 2021.

Early Life and Family
Mandar Agashe was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on May 24, 1969. He comes from a well-known family of business people. His father was the industrialist Dnyaneshwar Agashe. His mother was Rekha Gogte.
His family has many notable members. His grandfather was Chandrashekhar Agashe. He is also related to other important people. These include a general named Bapu Gokhale and a scientist named P. K. Kelkar.
Mandar Agashe earned a degree in software engineering in 1990. He studied at the Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He married Aparna Pandharkar in 1996. She is now known as Jiza Agashe. They have two children.
Starting His Business Journey
Mandar Agashe began his business career in 1991. He joined the board of directors at his grandfather's company. This company was called Brihan Maharashtra Sugar Syndicate. By 1994, he became a joint managing director there. In the same year, he also became a director at his father's bank, Suvarna Sahakari Bank.
He started several companies under the Brihans Group. In 1998, he founded Brihans Pharmaceuticals. This company made traditional Indian medicines. In 1999, he started musicurry.com, an internet radio company. He left his role at the sugar syndicate that same year.
In 2000, Mandar Agashe launched musicurry.com officially. He worked with a software company from California. He also invited famous singer Usha Mangeshkar to be a creative consultant. They planned to put the music archives of the Mangeshkar family online.
New Companies and Partnerships
In April 2000, he founded Brihans Natural Products. This company makes skincare products. They launched their popular aloe vera product line in 2002. In June 2000, he started Sarvatra Technologies. This company creates banking software. It first developed software for Suvarna Sahakari Bank.
He also founded other financial technology companies in 2000. These included EBZ Online and Codito Technologies. In 2002, Sarvatra Technologies partnered with Deepak Ghaisas' company, I-flex Solutions.
In 2006, Mandar Agashe introduced "Anywhere Money" POS terminals. These were from his company, Sarvatra Technologies. They received support from government officials. Resolving Bank Challenges
In 2008, Suvarna Sahakari Bank faced financial difficulties. Mandar Agashe, as a director, worked to help resolve the situation. The bank had issues with loans. Many people who had deposited money were worried.
Mandar Agashe returned to India in January 2009. He worked with former depositors to help repay the loans. He was involved in discussions to find solutions for the bank's problems. The bank eventually merged with the Indian Overseas Bank in May 2009. This helped to resolve the financial challenges.
Continuing Business Success
In 2011, Mandar Agashe expanded Sarvatra Technologies' services. He launched POS terminals for urban co-operative banks. By 2018, Sarvatra Technologies' financial system helped 450 co-operative banks. By 2020, it connected 50 urban co-operative banks to India's electronic funds transfer service.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he considered allowing half of his employees to work from home. He also noted that cashless transactions would likely increase. In February 2021, he spoke at a financial technology conference. He is often quoted as an expert in banking software.
In March 2023, Mandar Agashe shared Sarvatra Technologies' goal. They wanted to show India's payment software abilities at the 2023 G20 New Delhi summit. In September 2023, he spoke at a conference in Rome. This conference discussed payment services.

Mandar Agashe's Music Career

While in college, Mandar Agashe met Hridaynath Mangeshkar. He was asked to compose music for a Marathi poem. This poem was called Khulya Khulya Re Pavasa. Asha Bhosle sang it for a Marathi movie in 1995. Before this, in 1994, Agashe recorded an English rock music album. He said The Beatles were a big influence on his music.
In 1997, Agashe released his first Marathi album, Achanak. In 1998, he released his first Hindi album, Nazar Nazar. This album was produced by Ashutosh Phatak and Dhruv Ghanekar. Sony BMG released it in India.
In 2003, Agashe released a new age-techno song called I Need Someone in Germany. In 2005, he released a double album called Two of Us. One part was Hindi pop music, Jaan Le. The other part was English rock music, F. C. Road.
In April 2016, Mandar Agashe directed music for a western pop album. It featured Suresh Bhat's ghazals sung by Asha Bhosle. The album was called 82, named after Bhosle's age at the time. The album was recorded quickly. Agashe and Bhosle also announced a competition for fan-made music videos.
In June 2021, Agashe directed music for another album. It was a Marathi retro music album of Suresh Bhat's poems and ghazals. Rahul Deshpande sang on this album, titled Theek Aahe, Chaan Aahe, Masta Aahe. It was recorded during the COVID-19 lockdown. Other singers like Aarya Ambekar also featured on the album.
