How Mantador Started
Mantador was first set up in 1886 by the Soo Line Railroad. It was a special stop, or "depot," for trains. A law at the time said that train stops needed to be about nine miles apart. This was so trains could get fuel and water. These stops also helped deliver mail to people living in the area. The city of Mantador grew up around this important train depot.
