The northern edge of Maple Heights-Lake Desire is formed by Washington State Route 169. This road runs through the Cedar River valley. The eastern border follows a road called 196th Avenue SE. The southern border is SE Petrovitsky Road.

This community is about 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Renton. It's also about 16 miles (26 km) southeast of downtown Seattle.
