Marvin Mitchell (born October 21, 1984) is a former American professional football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Mitchell played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the 2007 NFL draft. Mitchell also played for the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings.

Early Life and Sports
Marvin Mitchell grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He went to Lake Taylor High School there. In high school, he was a great athlete. He was chosen as an all-district player for both offense and defense in football. He played tight end on offense.
Besides football, Mitchell also played basketball. He was also part of the track team. He even competed in shot put, which is a throwing event.
College Football Career
Mitchell attended the University of Tennessee. He played for the school's football team, the Tennessee Volunteers. He was supposed to take a year off from playing as a freshman. However, he ended up playing because other players were injured.
Mitchell missed the entire 2004 football season. This was due to an injury he got while practicing. The injury happened during preparations for the Peach Bowl game the year before.

Playing for the New Orleans Saints
