This set a new team record for most rushing yards in a debut game. He had two more games where he ran for over 100 yards that season. His 1,715 total yards from running and receiving was the third-best in the NFL. This also broke a team record held by Hall of Famer Gale Sayers. Forte led all rookie running backs in total yards and catches. His 61 catches also broke a team rookie record set by Mike Ditka.
2009 Season
Forte had his first big game of 2009 in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. He ran for 121 yards and scored his first touchdown of the season. He finished the 2009 season with 929 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 57 passes for 471 yards. Even though his numbers were a bit lower, he was still the main runner for the Bears.
2010 Season
In the first game of 2010, Forte had his best receiving game ever. He caught passes for 151 yards, including two touchdowns. One of these was an 89-yard touchdown that helped the Bears win. The Bears finished the season with an 11–5 record and made the playoffs. Forte had 1,616 total yards from running and receiving, which was tenth best in the NFL.
2011 Season
Forte started the 2011 season catching a lot of passes. In Week 4, he ran for a career-high 205 yards and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers. This started a streak of four games with over 100 rushing yards. Through the first nine games, Forte led the Bears in rushing yards, carries, catches, and receiving yards. He was also leading the entire league in total yards from scrimmage. Forte sprained his MCL (a knee ligament) in November, which ended his season. He finished with 997 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He also had 490 receiving yards and one touchdown. Even with the injury, he was chosen for the 2012 Pro Bowl for the first time. He was the first Bears running back to make the Pro Bowl since 1991.

2014 Season

In 2014, Forte showed he was one of the best receiving running backs ever. He had five or more catches in 14 out of 16 games. He even had two games in a row with 10 or more catches, which was very rare for a running back. He finished the season with 102 receptions, breaking a record for running backs set in 1995. He also ran for over 1,000 yards for the third year in a row. This made him only the third Bear to do so, along with Neal Anderson and Walter Payton. He ran for over 1,000 yards for the fifth time in his career, second only to Payton.
2015 Season
In Week 1 of 2015, Forte started strong with 141 rushing yards and a touchdown. However, a knee injury sidelined him for three games. In 13 games, Forte ran for 898 yards and four touchdowns.
