Maksim Mikalaevich "Max" Mirnyi (born 6 July 1977) is a former professional tennis player from Belarus. He was known as "The Beast of Belarus" because of his powerful playing style.
Max Mirnyi became a doubles specialist after playing singles. He reached a high ranking of World No. 18 in singles in August 2003. He also finished in the top 50 players for seven years in a row. He won one ATP singles title, which was the 2003 Rotterdam Open.
Mirnyi played for Belarus in the Davis Cup from April 1994. He won 47 matches and lost 27 in 35 ties. He became the World No. 1 doubles player in June 2003. He won ten Grand Slam titles in total. These included men's doubles titles at the US Open in 2000 and 2002. He also won the French Open men's doubles in 2005, 2006, 2011, and 2012. In mixed doubles, he won the US Open in 1998, 2007, and 2013, and Wimbledon in 1998.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Mirnyi carried the flag for Belarus during the Opening Ceremony. He then won a gold medal in mixed doubles with Victoria Azarenka on August 5, 2012.
