McCafé is a special part of McDonald's that works like a coffee shop. It sells different kinds of coffee and other drinks, plus some food.
This idea started in Melbourne, Australia, in 1993. It was created to offer customers fancy coffee drinks, like espresso, which were becoming very popular.
McCafé locations often made more money than regular McDonald's restaurants. By 2003, McCafé had become the biggest coffee shop brand in Australia and New Zealand. Because of this success, many McDonald's stores in Australia were updated to include McCafé sections.
