Mengálvio Pedro Figueiró, born on October 17, 1939, is a famous Brazilian retired footballer. People usually just call him Mengálvio. He was born in Laguna, Santa Catarina, Brazil. He played as a midfielder, which means he helped both defend and attack on the field.

Mengálvio played for the Brazil national football team. He played 13 games for his country and scored one goal. He was part of the amazing team that won the 1962 FIFA World Cup. Even though he was on the winning squad, he did not play in any of the matches during that tournament.

Most of his career was spent with Santos, a very famous Brazilian club. He played a huge number of games for Santos, 371 in total! He also scored 28 goals for them. While playing for Santos, he helped them win many important championships. This included the 1962 Copa Libertadores, where he played in all three final matches.
