Messancy is a small but lively place. As of January 1, 2022, about 8,339 people lived here. The town covers an area of 52.43 square kilometers. This means there are about 159 people living in each square kilometer.
Messancy is made up of several smaller areas called districts. These districts include Habergy, Hondelange, Messancy (the main town), Sélange, and Wolkrange. Other smaller places within Messancy are Bébange, Buvange, Differt, Guelff, Longeau, and Turpange.

Getting Around Messancy
Messancy has important roads that help people travel. The E25 highway goes through Messancy. It connects the city of Liège to Luxembourg City. Another highway, the E411, also joins the E25 near Messancy. It links Brussels and Namur to France.
The main road in Messancy is the N81. It runs from north to south. This road connects Arlon, the provincial capital, to Aubange and the French border near Longwy. Other national roads like the N813, N870, and N883 also pass through parts of Messancy.
Some smaller villages like Guelff and Bébange are reached by local roads. Sélange has the only border crossing in Messancy. You can cross into the Luxembourgish village of Clemency from there.
Bus Services
The local bus company, TEC, provides many bus lines in Messancy. These buses connect Messancy to nearby towns like Arlon, Athus, and Virton. Some bus lines also go to different parts of Messancy, like Habergy, Guelff, and Wolkrange.
There is also a bus service from Luxembourg. Bus line 801 connects Luxembourg City to Messancy, passing through Hondelange and Sélange.
Train and Air Travel
Messancy has one train station in the main village. It offers local train service on the L-165 line. This line connects Messancy to towns like Libramont and Arlon.
The closest airport for public flights is Luxembourg Airport. It is about 30 kilometers (18 miles) east of Messancy.
