Stephanie Hym Lee (born April 16, 1989), known in the wrestling world as Mia Yim, is an American professional wrestler. She works for WWE on the SmackDown brand. Her current wrestling name is Michin, which means "crazy" in Korean.
Mia Yim is also famous for her time in Impact Wrestling. There, she was a Impact Knockouts Champion. She was also part of a wrestling group called The Dollhouse. She has wrestled for other companies like Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and Shine Wrestling. In Shine, she won both the Shine Championship and the Shine Tag Team Championship. She even wrestled in Japan!
Mia Yim joined WWE in 2018 after showing off her skills in a big tournament called the Mae Young Classic. She first wrestled in NXT. In 2020, she moved to the main WWE shows and became part of a group called Retribution. She left WWE in 2021 but came back in November 2022. She then joined The O.C. group until it ended in 2024.

Who is Mia Yim?
Her Early Life and Family
Stephanie Hym Bell was born on April 16, 1989, in Los Angeles, California. Her dad is African American, and her mom, Sunhong Bell, is Korean. Her father was in the military and later became an FBI special agent. He worked with units that helped find missing children.
Stephanie played volleyball in high school in Vienna, Virginia. She then went to Virginia Union University on a volleyball scholarship. She studied information technology there and played volleyball until her last year of college.
Becoming a Professional Wrestler
Mia Yim loved professional wrestling since she was a kid. When she was 18, she started training at a wrestling school in Manassas, Virginia. This was while she was still in college! She trained for about a year and a half.
Her first wrestling match was on August 22, 2009. She chose the ring name Mia Yim. At first, she wrestled mostly in Virginia. Later, she wrestled for other companies like Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW). She also trained with Daizee Haze and worked for Ring of Honor (ROH). In 2011, she got to train and wrestle in Japan. She even learned some Mexican lucha libre wrestling moves!
Mia Yim's Wrestling Journey
Starting in Combat Zone Wrestling (2010–2012)
After training with D. J. Hyde, Mia Yim started working for Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW). She began as a manager for a wrestler named Adam Cole. They were a storyline couple, and Mia often helped Adam win his matches. She even wrestled in some matches herself, including a special "Tables, Ladders, and Chairs" match!
Shining Bright in Shine Wrestling (2012–2015)
Mia Yim joined Shine Wrestling in August 2012. She quickly became a top wrestler there. In 2013, she entered a tournament to crown the first Shine Champion. She made it to the finals but didn't win that time.
On February 28, 2014, Mia Yim teamed up with Leva Bates. They formed a tag team called The Lucha Sisters. They won the tournament to become the first-ever Shine Tag Team Champions! They defended their titles successfully. However, they lost the championship later that year.
On November 16, 2014, Mia Yim won the Shine Championship! This made her the first woman to hold both the Shine Championship and the Shine Tag Team Championship. She lost the championship in April 2015. Later, she changed her attitude and became a "villain" in Shine.
Wrestling in Shimmer and Full Impact Pro
Mia Yim also wrestled for Shimmer Women Athletes starting in 2013. She had many matches there against different wrestlers. She also wrestled for Full Impact Pro (FIP) in 2013. She even won a "Tables, Ladders, and Chairs" match there!
Her Time in Impact Wrestling
Early Appearances (2010–2015)
Mia Yim wrestled a few matches for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which is now called Impact Wrestling, between 2010 and 2015. These were often special matches or tryouts.
Joining The Dollhouse (2015–2016)
In April 2015, Mia Yim joined a new group in TNA called The Dollhouse. Her wrestling name changed to Jade. She and Marti Bell debuted as "bad guys" by attacking people. They helped their leader, Taryn Terrell, keep her championship. The Dollhouse often worked together to win matches. Jade later got a chance to win the TNA Women's Knockout Championship but didn't succeed at first.
Becoming TNA Knockouts Champion (2016–2017)
On April 5, 2016, Jade won the TNA Knockouts Championship for the first time! She defeated two other wrestlers in a three-way match. She successfully defended her title.
Later, Jade started a rivalry with the Knockouts Commissioner, Maria. This led to Jade becoming a "good guy" wrestler. She lost her championship after 87 days. Jade continued to wrestle for the championship but couldn't win it back. Her last match in TNA was in March 2017.
Her Journey in WWE
Early Appearances (2014–2018)
Mia Yim appeared in WWE a few times in 2014 and 2015. She was even one of Adam Rose's "rosebuds." She also wrestled a match in NXT.
In 2017, Mia Yim returned to WWE to compete in the Mae Young Classic tournament. She won her first match but lost in the second round. She came back for the tournament again in 2018, winning two matches before being eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Her Time in NXT (2018–2020)
Because of her great performance in the Mae Young Classic, Mia Yim signed a contract with WWE in September 2018. She started wrestling in NXT. She quickly became a popular "good guy" wrestler. She had a big rivalry with Bianca Belair, eventually defeating her.
In August 2019, Mia Yim challenged Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women's Championship but lost. In November, she joined the main WWE shows as part of a big storyline. She was chosen for the first-ever women's WarGames match. However, she was attacked backstage and couldn't compete. It was later revealed that Dakota Kai was the attacker.
Joining Retribution (2020–2021)
On September 21, 2020, Mia Yim made her official debut on Raw. She became a "bad guy" and joined a group called Retribution. Her new wrestling name was Reckoning. The group eventually broke up in March 2021. Mia Yim was later released from her WWE contract in November 2021.
Returning to Impact Wrestling (2022)
After leaving WWE, Mia Yim wrestled on the independent circuit. On May 7, 2022, she made a surprise return to Impact Wrestling. She helped her friends and started wrestling there again. She competed in the first-ever "Queen of the Mountain" match for the Knockouts World Championship but didn't win. She left Impact Wrestling again in October 2022.
Back in WWE (2022–Present)
On November 7, 2022, Mia Yim made another big return to WWE on Raw! She attacked Rhea Ripley and joined the group The O.C. with AJ Styles and others. Her team won a big WarGames match later that month.
In February, her wrestling name was changed to Michin. This is a Korean word that means "crazy," and it was her mom's nickname for her when she was little. In 2023, Michin moved to the SmackDown brand. She even got a chance to challenge for the WWE Women's Championship in January 2024 but didn't win. In June 2024, she reunited with Gallows & Anderson. She also competed in a tournament for the new WWE Women's United States Championship but lost in the final.

Mia Yim knows sign language! She learned it from a deaf friend. She has even worked as a captionist, helping deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
Mia Yim is also a strong supporter of people who have experienced difficult situations. She has spoken out to help others and raise awareness. In 2016, she was named one of BBC's 100 Women for her advocacy.
On February 11, 2021, Mia Yim got engaged to fellow professional wrestler Keith Lee. They got married on February 5, 2022.
