Micco is a community in Brevard County, Florida. It is called a "census-designated place" (CDP) because it's a recognized area for gathering population data. This is true even though it is not an official city or town.
In 2020, about 9,574 people lived in Micco. This was a bit more than the 9,052 people who lived there in 2010. Micco is also part of the larger Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville, Florida area.
History of Micco
The first person to settle in the Micco area was Frank Smith in 1877. A few years later, in 1880, a post office was opened. It was first called Chipco. However, it closed after only one year.
The post office reopened in 1884, this time with the name Micco. Later, in 1993, the Micco post office joined with the one in Sebastian. Today, they work together, even though they are in two separate buildings.

Micco is located in Florida at coordinates 27°52′39″N 80°30′52″W.
The area of Micco is about 25.6 square kilometers (9.85 square miles). Most of this area, about 19.7 square kilometers (7.60 square miles), is land. The rest, about 5.8 square kilometers (2.25 square miles), is water. This means that about 22.78% of Micco is covered by water.
Micco shares its postal code with the nearby town of Sebastian.
